MORE ARE COMING!

I am WAY behind on posting paintings and drawings. I have many many more coming from this semester of my painting class. I have worked on drawings that I still need to take pictures of and post them. I also have been working on a children's picture book full of stories of Christ. This is a personal project that I started couple months ago to help me read the New Testament.

So more are coming! :)

Roaming through Mountains

"Roaming through Mountains"
Oil Painting by McKenzie Clarke

Wow, I did this a long time ago. I was just barely teaching myself how to paint and I created this scene out of my head. This was before my painting classes, and it's so funny looking at it.

Watercolor Painting

"Every Little Girl's Dream"
Watercolor by McKenzie Clarke

I will just say that this is a horrible picture of this painting. It's a bit fuzzy. Also, There are more colors then what this picture presents it to be, but it's what I got. I loved doing this painting because of her expression and flow in her dress.

Oil Painting: "Through the Grasslands"

"In the Grasslands"
Oil Painting by McKenzie Clarke

This was one of my very first Oil paintings. So as you can see, I experimented with lots of colors. I am still trying to figure out (just as my teacher would say) the "language of color."

Classy Era

"Classy Era" sketch by McKenzie Clarke

This was just for fun because I just love that dress.

Pondering

"Pondering" sketch by McKenzie Clarke

Older skin is very fun to draw. It makes it exciting for me because trying to capture it makes it a challenge for me. I am sad that this picture did turned out a bit weird. The dark is dark in this picture, but it's what I can do with my camera.

Still Life

This is a still life that I did for the Final in my Drawing 1 class. I only had a certain amount of time to finish it, so the flowers are not as complete as I would like.

"Running through the wind" sketch by McKenzie Clarke

Horses are so fun to draw, especially when their muscles are shown, I still need more practice getting the technique down.

Beauty

"Beauty" sketch by McKenzie Clarke

This was a fun one to draw because it aloud me to focus on how to draw hair.

About Me and my Blog

Here's my official blog logo (I guess that's what you would call it)

In summary of who I am, I am seventeen years old living "the dream life" (sarcasm) in Las Vegas and pursuing art (if you haven't noticed.) I hope to enroll into BYU provo and get a Bachelors and Masters either in studio arts, illustration, or Graphic arts. My Dad has been my inspiration for my art passion. He is also an artist and my personal teacher. I only started pursuing art seriously during my freshmen year of high school. I love traditional artists and traditional style of art.

Beside my art life, I love many other hobbies. I am learning sign language at the moment. I also love to sing and play the viola. My family and I goes out on hikes as much as we can, and I take my dog out running as much as I can.

So I hope you enjoy my artwork.

Line Drawing Project

This was once again a drawing assignment in my art class, but this exercise involved doing only a line drawing of the still life that was presented to us. And Yes! there was a foot in a box. Since I finished early she aloud me to add some more shading.

Vanitas Project

One of the "Vanitas still life" that I did in my Art Class last spring semester.
Vanitas are a kind of art style that portrays death through symbols such as skulls, rotting fruit, or dying flowers.

Camera Project

This is one of my projects in my sophomore Graphic Arts class.
This was my version of making a camera.

Lightning Sun

Lightning Sun by McKenzie Clarke

This was a project done in my Graphic Arts class in Sophomore year. My teacher gave us the freedom to make any kind of space scene we wanted. I was so excited and had the idea of creating a sun that ran off of electricity instead of heat.
